There's a phrase that reads...
If a tree falls
in the forest........
And no one is there.....
Will anyone hear it?
Writing blog posts can feel like that at times...
If I write it...
Does anyone read it?
Should I bother, is it even worth it?
Then I realized....a blog post is like a tree in the forest.
If it's been written, someone will read it and even if they don't leave a comment it's still been noticed, read, probably enjoyed and it's out there representing what Rural is.
I've come to the realization that if a tree falls in the forest, it's heard...by the forest.
So I'm continuing to write these blog posts 'cause I want to bring you more of those moments that feel ever so profoundly Rural.
Like the time an entire murder of black crows coated our snowy back road, a giant mass of feathered protestors refusing to move until my vehicle came to a complete.... ....stop.
Then the nasty feathered fiends flew up to the telephone wires and catcalled me while I took photos of them from down below.
I'm writing these posts to share that feeling of joy when it fills my heart as the slanted golden rays of the winter sun reach across the fields mingling among the fuzzy sheep turning them into glowing balls of wool.
Also to share our excitement when our group of #midlife mountaineers had finally reached the peak of a local mountain pushing ourselves on the icy snowy trail to get to the top.
It was a hard climb that day, and I wanted to share that feeling of looking down the mountain upon a view that stretched for miles while standing knee deep in fluffy white snow.
The bliss of seeing three Okanagan lakes in the distance between the foggy layers shrouding the mountains. To explain how our breath was gasping, and our legs were rubbery but our hearts were full.
And how while working our way back down again...we accidentally took the wrong path and it felt as if we would never find the truck again....whew, that was hard.
Those are some of the stories that I've been sharing on Rural's Facebook and Instagram accounts.
Drop by and be part of our community, and don't forget to tag your rural themed posts with the #myruralworld hashtag on Instagram so we can share our love of all things Rural.
I'm so looking forward to seeing you here, and there!
